Goal Setting For The New Year

Your MUST List

January is a month for new beginnings and fresh starts in our personal lives and in our business. It’s a time for reflecting, goal setting and understanding what changes need to happen in order to have a better life in the new year.

December is the month to organize your business to make that new beginning possible next year. If you are anything like me, you are really good at writing down your business goals as the New Year approaches, but those goals sometimes tend to fall flat as the year goes on. That is why I recommend you write a ‘MUST list.’

What is a ‘MUST list,’ you ask?

A ‘MUST list’ is exactly as it sounds – a list of things that must happen in the coming year to be able to achieve the desired changes. So ask yourself these questions:

  • What must happen in the coming year to change the direction of my business?
  • What must happen to make my business more profitable?
  • What must happen to make me feel more fulfilled in my business?

These are important questions to ask yourself, as they will help set you and your business up for success in 2018. Be sure to answer them honestly and in great detail so that you have a clear understanding of what you need to do to achieve that success.

Your Must NOT List

Now that you have created a list of things that must happen in the coming year, let’s not forget about the things that must NOT happen. What must you not do?

I encourage you to take a step back from your business and observe – what hasn’t been working but you still try to make it work over and over again? (You are going to dive yourself crazy if you keep that up!). Equally important, most people do a TON of busy work, but find in the end that they are not being at all productive.

You need to ask yourself ‘What can I eliminate from my daily practices to increase my productivity?’

Top earning estheticians tend to focus on only a few services instead of trying to be everything to everyone. Find your niche and run with it! Another suggestion that I must make is that you eliminate any and all products and services that are not working for you. Replace those poor habits with positive rituals that will bring you closer to your vision.

If you need guidance in your esthetician business, I am happy to help! Create fulfillment in your personal life and business world by considering one of my programs that fit your needs best. Click here.

The New Year can bring a fresh start to your business. Make 2019 the year that you FINALLY get your business organized, refreshed, and rejuvenated!
